Baby Holmes ETA May 5, 2013!!

It is official! I went to the Dr's yesterday and I am 5.5 weeks along and due May 5!! Wooh :) I cannot wait to start sharing the news with friends and family

I am pregnant!!!

Soo me and hubs are in Maui for a nice lil vacay before he goes back to school. I was suppose to start my period the weekend we got there, kinda sucks since most of our holiday I would be out of commission. My gf and I both were hoping to get pregs before Maui. I thought I should bring a pregnancy test with me just in case.. But did not want to jinx it you know?! My mom had bought a cheap test for me a few months before so I thought sure... Why not bring it. Sunday goes by no period... None Monday.. Still none Tuesday or Wednesday.

Wednesday morning I decide to take the test. At this point I still don't think N gets that being this late for me is a pretty big deal. I'm usually within a day or two! As soon as I take the test it shows two lines... Pregnant!!! We are super pumped about it! It's hard not to tell Ash & Jason for the rest of the trip... She did know my period was late and no drinking.

It is now Saturday and we are in Colorado for a wedding. We decided we couldn't wait to get home and try another test so bought a digital test and yes again Pregnant!!! I can't wait to get home and see my DR and share the news!! N wants to wait to tell people but since I work with my mom I figure we will tell my parents pretty quick! :) I think it would be cool to wait until Halloween to tell friends and fam as I saw this cute preg tshirt. It seems so long to wait though! We shall see..

First Pregnancy Questionnaire


How did you find out you were pregnant? By taking a home pregnancy test when period was late but I had a feeling that I might be!! Maybe intuition ;)

What kind of Pregnancy test did you take? First one was a dollar store one lol then First Response Digital

How many? 2 so far.. But I know there will be more before our first dr appointment :)

What were your 1st symptoms? Sore boobs. A bit of cramping and bloating.

Who did you tell first? My husband :)

Who was with you when you found out? My husband

My 1st reaction: Excited! I think I would have been more nervous if when we first started trying it happened but now after over six months we have been wanting this to happen more and more.

Was your baby planned? Yes :)

When was the baby conceived? Longbeach vacay! N figures it was in the sauna lol

How far were you when you found out? 4.5 weeks was first test :)

How did your parents react? I am not home yet but bought a onesie and a bib in Maui for them to open when we get back :) I know they will be super stoked!!

Quality Family Time

This weekend N and I went to Longbeach with our pup for some down time. We had a really good time. The cabin we stayed at was right on the beach. I just love the sound of the surf. Saturday was rainy but we still went to Schooner Cove and walked around the bay. My legs were KILLING me from doing stairs on Thursday at running group. Just shows I need to do those stairs more often I guess (I have met my kryptonite). Miller pup loved it! Back at the cabin we gave the sandy pup a bath, had some lunch and cuddled up and watched a movie. For dinner we went to the Shelter (love!!) and I had some yummy wine (prospect winery sav blanc in case I forget lol).

It is funny, ever since DR I have not wanted to drink much. I don't know if I am just being paranoid (ie. Agh my boobs hurt, my ovaries hurt etc) or if I am actually pregnant. I keep thinking it's too early to tell. Part of me really hopes I am... I am excited to be a mom, and set up nursery, and nest ... And another small part of me hopes I have more time to be uhh.. Irresponsible?! It sounds worse than it is lol. It is just nice to be so spontaneous right now, I am trying to really appreciate that. Lord knows if I am anything like when we first got Miller home... Could not sleep a wink! I had all these dreams about him being hurt or peeing on the floor lol. I don't want to be a neurotic mom!!! Haha

Anyways... Today was beautiful and we walked the beach with Miller. It was a great way to get some down time, especially there being no tv! Lol had to bring laptop to watch movies. OH and saw Hunger Games today!! Absolutely loved it! May have cried a wee bit ;) so glad I read the books first. Anywho.. Time to get ready for another big week at work! Plus Easter/ more bday festivities. Soo hope my body is ready for all that lol
